O'Donnell - Devers Connection

There is a very well know incident which took place on December 10, 1875, the home of Margaret Devers O’Donnell (my ggggrandmother) in Wiggans Patch, Mahoney City, Schuykill Co., PA (may of you probably know more about this than I do). On of the survivors of the attack, a supposed Molly Maguire, was James O’Donnell. According to my father’s cousin, James changed his name to Devers (or Deveaux), his mothers maiden name, and fled to New York, raising a family. He said he met these Devers cousins in Shenandoah, PA as a boy, probably in the 1930’s or 40’s. I was curious if anyone else had ever heard this story about James O’Donnell before?
