Carol - My John Dever was from Donegal, Ireland. He was born in 1816 and came to the U.S. in about 1832. He was married to Jane Carson and lived in Jefferson and Tuscarawa Cos., Ohio. After Jane died, John remarried and moved to Sullivan Co., Indiana. There were Devers in Scioto Co., Ohio, but I don't know if or how they were related to my line.
