A little more information re: my great-grandfather Hugh Dever: Hugh was born in 1859 in Ireland and died March 13, 1917 in Maugh Chunk. My sister received a copy of his obit from local newspapers. Hugh came to the US at the age of 16 in 1875 landing in Philadelphia we think.

He was survived by a brother Patrick who lived "out west." No other siblings were listed.

All of Hugh's 10 children ( my grandfather James being his youngest) were baptised at Immaculate Conception Church in Maugh Chunk, PA.

What I need now is where Hugh was born in Ireland. Then I can finish a search in Ireland. We think Co Mayo, but Co Donegal is possible.

Interesting note: The church secretary at Immaculate Conception, Rose, is the daughter of my father's cousin Joe Rader. Hugh Dever is her great-grandfather too.
