Even More DEVER - PA Info

I have new information on my DEVER line from PA:

My grandfather was Gerald Vincent Dever Sr. born 28 Mar 1905 (not 1907 as we previously thought) in Philadelphia. He died at 7:16 pm at the Lady of Lourdes hospital near Dover, DE. The hospital was in Newark, DE. Apparently someone misread the death certificate, and assumed that it was Newark, NJ -- which is why it was filed in Camden, NJ, where I found it. He was buried 11 Dec 1952 at age 47.
He married Marie WALKER, also of Philadelphia. They had three children, Gerald Jr, Barbara Anne, and John "Jack" Charles.

Gerald's father, was James E. Dever, and we think that he was also born in Philadelphia. He married Matilda ? James E. Dever was buried 8 June 1929 at age 62. He was born abt 1867, and died in June 1929. Matilda G. Dever was buried 31 Dec 1947 at age 69. She was born abt 1878, and died Dec 1947.

Gerald Sr. had three siblings: James Jr., Cornelius (Neil), and Ruth M:

James Jr. married Mary GALLAGHER and had seven children. He died on the Walnut Lane Bridge in Philadelphia.

Ruth M. Dever was buried 31 Jul 1974 at age 70. She was born abt 1904, and died in July 1974.

Neil C. Dever was buried 21 Oct 1991 at age 81. THe was born abt 1910, and died in Oct 1991.

Gerald Sr, James M. Sr., Matilda, Ruth, and Neil are all buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia in a family plot. Two other people are buried in the Dever family plot. They lived at the same address as James E. Dever:

Mary McCauley, buried 8 Jan 1955 at age 81. This means that she was born abt 1874 -- only seven years younger than James E. Dever -- my guess is that she is his sister. I would imagine that would be the only reason why she is in the Dever family plot. A long shot is that she is Matilda's sister, but I doubt it. Another long shot is that she is James' widow, and remarried -- but I doubt it. That's the kind of thing they did in the early 1800s, not the 20th century.

Patrick McCauley, Mary's husband. Buried 5 Dec 1935 at age 62. This means that he was born abt 1873, and died Nov/Dec 1935.

Thank you!
