Antoine (Thony) Emery-Coderre
============================================================
Antoine Emery-Coderre was baptised at St-Hilaire-de-Sarrazac, Perigueux diocese, Limousin, France on August 6, 1643. His name on the baptism record is Thony Emery, son of Megny Emery and Marguerite Pasquau. His brother Geoffroy was also baptised at St-Hilaire-de-Sarrazac on August 24, 1646 [fichierorigine.com 241455].

Antoine arrived in Quebec on August 17, 1665 as a soldier in the Contrecoeur Company of the Carignan Regiment. After the Carignan Regiment was disbanded he settled somewhere in northern Vercheres County. (Early public records have him in Vercheres or Contrecoeur and the parish registries for the two parished are non-existant.)

Sometime about 1668 Antoine married 'fille du roi' Marie Devault. A marriage contract was prepared several years after their marriage on April 13, 1674 at Contrecoeur by notary Antoine Adhemar [PRDH 94551].

After Marie's death, Antoine married Marie-Anne Favreau about 1688 in Contrecoeur. There is a gap in parish records for Contrecouer from August 6, 1687 to October 15, 1701. A marriage contract exists from June 5, 1688 that was prepared by notary Michel Moreau [PRDH 94777]. They had nine children.

Anthony died some time between January 24, 1708 (when he was present at the marriage of his daughter Marguerite to Nicolas Jouan) and February 10, 1716 (when he is mentioned as deceased on the marriage record of his son Antoine to Marguerite Brunet). (There were several gaps in the parish records during this time. The largest being 1712 through 1713.)

Marie Devault (several spellings)
============================================================
Marie was baptised at the parish of St-Sulpice, Nogent-le-Roi, diocese of Chartres, Orleanais, France. Her parents were Jacques Desvaux and Louise Folure [fichierorigine.com 241285].

Marie died on December 6, 1687 and was buried the next day at Repentigny, L'Assomption County, Quebec, Canada [PRDH 20169]. (Repentigny is across the river from Contrecoeur.)
