Joanne I was quite excited to see this posting about John William DeVeau. I've been attempting to uncover information about him for quite some time. I'm 98% certain he's my great grandfather. I do, however, show a different name as his spouse than you. I show John William DeVeau born Apr 26, 1872, in Hubbards Point, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia to Thomas DeVeau and Margaret Osithe Hubbard (possibly an illegitimate son). I show him passing in Reading, MA., on Jul 12, 1962. He's burried at St Patricks Cemetery, in Stoneham, MA. I show he married my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Jeanne Hubbard, at Ste Anne du Ruisseau, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, on Jan 20, 1892. Elizabeth was born Dec 14, 1873, in Hubbards Point, Yarmouth Co., Nova Scotia to Simon Hubbard and Genevieve Doucet. Elizabeth died Nov 15, 1915 in Stoneham, MA. Like John William, she's buried at St Patricks Cemetery, in Stoneham. Their children were Nellie May (b Jun 30, 1893); Grace (b. Mar 21, 1895); George William (b. 24 Oct 1896); John M (b. 1898); Marion E (b. 1899); Alice F (b. 1901); Ellen (b. 1903) and Jane Margaret (b. 1913). Nelly married Paul (?) Garvey. My grandmother, Grace, first married Joseph Howe and after his death, a Sharp. George's wifes name (I'm reasonably certain was Maxine Bova - they ended up in Los Angeles County, CA). Jane "Margaret" married several times. I believe her earliest marriage was to a Turner and the last was to an Amoroso. I would love to exchange information with you.
