Dennis, Thank you for replying. I had not checked the forum in quite some time and had not seen Pat's posting. I had been e-mailing off site with John DeVoe and got the following:
"As I believe I indicated, my interest in Anne is limited given I am descended of Charlemagne's second wife, Marie Gaudet.
Not withstanding that fact, I am often asked about Anne's parents.
Yesterday morning I called my old friend Steve White, genealogist at the Center for Acadian Studies at the University of Moncton (THE expert!), to discuss another matter and thouight to ask for Anne's parents.
His response: "Anne was the daughter of Charles and Cécile Poirier. Cécile died in 1740, Charles some 15 years later."
(Note the name Cécile...your grandmother's name as well).
I asked if that was based on a known record of her parentage or was it a deduction (often made, generally valid coming from Steve). He replied that his belief was based on well supported deduction.
I can offer no more, but thought to pass it on...given the loss of so many records this is the best you are likely to find!"
Again, thanks for replying and if you ever find out anything different I would love to hear about it. I will also post this to Pat's message. Regards, Pete Gagne
