Hi Pat
Unfortunatly the only information I have on Owen is from the 1901 census - in that he was my grandfathers brother. His father was Michael Devaney (b ?1867 & d1944)and his mother was Catherine - I don't know her maiden name, but my Dad seemed o think that it may have been Brennan (although one of the sons maried a Catherine Brennan and he may have got confused with that. Also there was some thoughts that her maiden name was also Devaney - there were a number of Devaney family in the local area a the time. Michael Devaney was a water baliff on the River Moy. The Moy is the local river - it runs through Foxford - this is the local town serving Stonehall, it is a famous salmon river.
I am going to see if I can find someone in Mayo who will be able to do a search for me - there is a local Family History Centre in Ballina - If I manage to get anything else I will let you know.
If we do have the same family I am quite happy to fill you in with the details of all of Owens brothers and sisters and who they married etc.
