I have the following census information from March 1901.
Poor Law Union: Ballina.
District Electoral Division: Sraheen.
Barony: Tirawley.
Township: Ballynahaglish.
Townland: Stonehall.

Michael Devaney 34, Farmer Born Mayo
Catherine Devaney 34 Wife Born Mayo (Her maiden name may have been Brennan)
Mary Ann Devaney 13 Scholar Born Mayo
John Devaney 10 Scholar Born Mayo
Michael Devaney 8 Scholar Born Mayo
Kate Agnes Devaney 6 Scholar Born Mayo
Pat Devaney 4 Farmers son Born Mayo
Owen Devaney 1 Farmers son Born Mayo
Mary Devaney 60 Mother - in - law Born Mayo.

John Devaney (the 10 year old) married Margaret Durkin from Killaser/Dountas in Couny Mayo. These are my grandparents.
I know that Pat Devaney and Owen Devaney both moved to England and settled there with their own families.

If anyone has any information regarding the parents etc of the adult Michael Devaney (the farmer) or his wife Catherine I would appreciate it.Any information on any of the other Devaney's would also be appreciated - especially the Devaney's from England who are likely to be my cousins

Thanks

Sue
