I have been reading your correspondence with Michael Devaney. I doubt if there's any connection at all to my Devaney's, but a lot of the names are familiar. My g/grandfather was Michael Devaney, born in 1847. I have a copy of his obituary, but it states that he came to the US around 1859 from Ireland. I believe he had 2 brothers, Patrick (b. 1836)& James (b. 1835). All of them were born in Ireland....I think. Patrick was married to Kate Gallagher (born in England) and James was married to Bridget (last name & place of birth unknown). The obituary also lists their parents as P. Devaney & Bridget Rourke (or O'Rourke).

Like I said, there's probably no connection, and it's probably just a coincidence that my brother's name was Owen. I always assumed he was named after someone in the Devaney family, but I haven't found any connection. Maybe there is none, but it's sure interesting. If any of this clicks, please contact me at MMOORE05@MSN.com

Thanks.
