Ashley, the birth date for Mary Deviney, as listed in the Bible of Aaron Deviney, was 26 March 1784 (in Rutherford Co., NC). This page from his Bible is included with his Revolutionary War pension papers (Claim 8321) which was originally filed on 29 October 1834. A dispute arose after his death, and statements were filed by his daughters Anne, Rachel and Elizabeth. It is likely that the page from his Bible was filed with their statements, to prove they were his heirs.
