I wish that I could be of more help but cannot find your Sarah Frances or any Willifords in my database. That said, I hope that you will continue looking, as will I.

The DeVane name is pronounced here in southeastern NC -- where the immigrant ancestor settled -- more like "duh VAWN" but our relatives who have moved out of state have caved in to others' phonetic pronunciation, which is why your Devain might well be a DeVane.

Perhaps one of my GA DeVane relatives can help you more; my GA section of the database is woefully lacking.
