Hi Elizabeth. Nice to here from you. The Lee/Devane deed was taken from Bath Co deed abstracts deed book 1, I believe p393 where I also found the various deeds of Lee and Devane and Sullivant. I haven't seen the original but I'm pretty confident any typos wouldn't change the essential content. I also found the Darby Sullivants in Barbados. I found a family of Sullivants in Calvert Co, MD including a Darby Sullivant about 1708, but I don't think they were related. Darby and a John Sullivan were earliest residents of Wickham, 1705. Don't know relationship Darby and John. In 1735 will of John Selvert(Sullivan) Hyde Parish, Bath Co, he names Darby Silwert(Sullivan) as younger brother and less than 21. Also bro Joseph Selivert, and sis Elizabeth, Grace Silvert, and Marget Silvert- no definite link to our Darby, but so tantalizingly close.
Someone gave his itenerary as France to Scotland to Bardados to New Bern NC 1721 which became Wilmington. The Wilmington part was displaced but the New Bern 1721 is close- you'd think they must have seen a passenger list. Actually, the first mention of Thomas Devanne(Devane) was as witness to deed 21Jan1717/18 N side Pamptico R (Bath Co).
