The farm of John Thomas DeVane on 400 acres is still in the family and known as the "Old Home Place." He was the first coroner of Brooks County, GA and his land was among the first deeded farms. As DeVane Farm, it is on the National Historic Reigister. It is completely restored an the site of our GA family reunions.
Our Great-grandfather, Daniel James DeVane married into the Holloway family from Valdosta. His wife's uncle became known as "Doc Holliday," of OK Coral fame.
