I am descended from a woman named Julia Devane who married a man named James Love in NC. I believe Julia Devane lived in Wilmington most her life. She had an interesting story that I can't remember all the details of at the moment. But my great great aunt wrote it all down. I wish I could remember the ful story, but I know she originally immigrated from France as a child. Her father was a merchant (I think his name was Charles Devane?) and somehow Julia was kidnapped as a young girl. I wish I could remember the whole story. I wonder does this name ring a bell with anyone?
