Hi, Juanita! Surely these DeVANEs are related to our NC DeVANES who began leaving NC in the early 1800's for GA, FL and MS. There was an Ireton C. DeVANE in MS as early as 1820 with a trading post in the middle of Choctaw territories. Family stories tell that he lived in a sort of tree house with a ladder that he pulled up each night for security. He is mentioned in a book on the history of Carroll Co., MS, which I do not have.
If you can connect to Ireton, I can supply you with four generations of DeVANE information, back to our immigrant ancestor, Thomas DeVANE, supposedly a Huguenot.

Good luck with the connecting!!

Betsey DeVane
