I am descended from the DeVanes,
Thomas1 First, John2 Sr, James3 (1757-1840)
& (1)Ann Robeson=
Celeath4, (4/18/1784-aft1860) m.ca1803 Theophilus Stevens (10/25/1780-8/1/1857).
Celeath had older brother James and a
younger brother Benjamin Robeson DeVane.
Some of Albert DeVane's DeVane research was
included in the papers of William Rufus
DeVane King at the Alabama Archives. Either he or Dwight did a long newspaper article
stating Princess Margaurite Conti was wife of Thomas DeVane First.
Would appreciate any concrete data on early
DeVanes, so much error going around.
My James was brother to John Jr.
