Lewis Duel Died at the Alamo

Lewis Duel was born 1813 in the Manhatten, New York area. His fathers name was John or Jonathan. In the 1830's he traveled to Texas and was killed at the Alamo in 1836 with Bowie and Crockett.

At the mission history center in San Antonio, the only information they have on him is his birthdate, his father's name and that he is believed to be from Manhatten, New York. Lewis Duel is a name that is scattered through out various Deuel, Duel, Devol and Dewell families. If anyone has more information on this man and his connection to the family let me know.
