From the Elkhart (IN) Truth 9/23/2001:
"Gertrude Alberta Deuel, 89, of (address) died at 7:09 a.m. Friday (Sept. 21, 2001) at Valley View Healthcare Center (Elkhart, IN).
Mrs. Deuel was born July 31, 1912, in Goshen (IN) to Bertrand E. and Orpha Alice (Meadows) Leist. She married Lee B. Deuel on June 24, 1933, in Mishawaka (IN). He died March 16, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald L. Deuel of Elkhart, Norman K. Deuel of Elkhart, and Larry D. Deuel of Union, MI;
three sisters, Vera M. Schrock of Leesburg, FL, Betty M. Sponseller of Elkhart, and Marion I. Sharp of Goshen; two brothers, Robert E. Leist of Fairbanks, AK, and Francis N. Leist of Bakersfield, CA; eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren."
This item also notes that she was a member of First Brethren Church, and that Rev. Tim Garner will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery (Elkhart).
I have nothing further; just thought it might be of interest to Deuel searchers.
