This is not my family...just thought it might help someone.
In 1784, James McAfee of Lincoln County, NC deeded his sons Robert and Abner a tract of land in Washington Co NC (now Washington Co, Tn) "tract on Indian Creek, called the Greesy Cove in Washington Co., NC, purchased in co-partnership with his brother Robert McAfee from Martin Dudwiler & others...also negroes (Named). James McAfee (Seal)"
James' brother Robert paid taxes on property in 1780 and 1781, so the purchase occured before that time.
