Have you looked at http://www.detwilerreunion.com? There is a Jacob Detwiler there but he was born in 1822 and died in 1896.
I am also trying to find a connection between my branch and the Pennsylvania Detwilers. I think it may be through my relative John Funk Detwiler. In case any Pennsylvania Detwilers read this and may have some leads that would help me figure out the connection, here is info. about my branch of the Detwilers:
John Funk Detwiler b.1801/d.1870, married Esther Frey Bertolet b.1799/d.1881. Esther descended from Jean Bertolet b.1726 who was a Huguenot from Switzerland. They had a son named Dr. Samuel Bertolet Detwiler b.1834/d.1881 who married Frances Herstine Longacre b.1839/d.1928. They had a son named Samuel Bertolet Detwiler b.1881/d.1973 who married Kate Emily Price Pritchett who was born in Rotherham, England, and died in 1948 in Arlington, Virginia. They had twin boys… my grandfather Dr. Robert Henry Detwiler b.1909/d.1975, a pediatrician and county board chairman, and Samuel Bertolet Detwiler b.1909/d.1978, a scientist. Robert Henry Detwiler married my grandmother Eleanor Margaret Coombs b.1912/d.1983 and had three children in Arlington, Virginia: Robert Coombs Detwiler, b.1941; Stephen Howard Detwiler (b.date?); and my mother Elizabeth Gardner Detwiler, b.1947. My mother married Lindell Frederick Shrum and had my sister Susan Lynn Shrum b.1970, and myself Sandra Elizabeth Detwiler b.1973.
