Am interested in what appears to be a German settlement in
Harrison county, Indiana in 1850. It also appears that
many of these settlers were in Pennsylvania before coming
to Indiana.

I have a g.g.g.grandmother Elizabeth Lenn that married Andrew Robers Poe and this couple are also in Harrison county in 1850. Realize that the spelling of Elizabeth's surname is a bit unusual, however, there are two Lenn families living in the middle of this settlement on this census.

Family legend says that Elizabeth spoke German, but referred to herself as "Black Dutch". Am wondering if maybe this family was originally Amish??

Would love to hear anyone comments regarding any of these
people

Thanks
