Don,

I have another branch of the Detricks from Virginia. My maternal grandmother was a Detrick. Her line also comes from the Rockingham Co VA area. We start with Johann Detrick from the Fromme Valley, he married in Rockingham Co about 1792 or 1793. He had several children and his son, Adam moved to Montgomery County Ohio, which is the Dayton area and he is buried, I believe, off of Brandt Pike in north Dayton. My line was his brother Peter, who moved to Logan County Ohio, the Bellefountaine area.

It may be Adam's family who was involved with the Distilling company.

Is there a link between your John Henry and my Johann Detrick. Johann was born about 1760, give or take a year or so.

Joan Mikesell
