Hello Renae,
Glad to hear that you are also a Detlefsen fan painting as well. I became interested in his artwork in 1984. I have posted several queries on this forum that talks about Paul Detlefsen and his artwork. What painting did you inherit from your grandmother? Ebay.com is a great place to find Paul Detlefsen paintings. Other places to find Detlefsen paintings is thrift stores, and flea markets. Horse and Buggy Days the original is hanging in City Hall out in San Deago, California. Paul Detlefsen and Walt Disney were really good friends when they were living. Detlefsen died in California on Aug 3, 1986. Karen Kozlow his granddaughter lives in California and she is the little girl in Memories with the geese in it. Detlefsen worked for Warner Brothers for 30 years as a back drop artist for such movies as Robin Hood 1939 version, Tomsawyer 1947 version, and Cabin in The Cotton. Paul Detlefsen drew his childhood memories. Paul Detlefsen was born in 1899. Hope this information is helpful to you Renae, and hope to hear from you. Cordially, Mike Jones
