Sorry, I misunderstood. Not sure you have a problem with a name change. It was the custom in rural parts of Denmark, in the time period we are dealing with, that the children would take their maternal parents name. When they immigrated some of the immigrations officials noting this would change the surname back to the paternal line. Would be interested in Peter Detlefsen and family. The maternal information will be just as important. will do some checking in my records. Will share any information you have
