I am familiar with the name Henri Deterding, but have no idea how he might or might not connect with my Deterding family.
There are a number of areas where the Deterding name is concentrated in Germany, the Hannover region being about the largest of them. Even so, the name is not all that common, even in Germany.
I am not sure if the Deterdings from the Netherlands might have originally come from Germany but I assume so. It would be interesting to be able to prove some kind of connection, but right now I am not near to being able to do that. Sorry I am not able to be of more help.
