I live in England and we (my family and I) are almost 100% sure we are the only Deterdings in Britain. My great-grandfather was Sir Henri Deterding, he was born in the Netherlands and moved to England (died in 1939). His parentage was Danish. Sir Henri married three times and I believe had several children. Sir Henri Deterding was head of Royal Dutch Petroleum and spear-headed the formation of the parent company of Royal Dutch Shell. You are very welcome to contact me if you wish to investigate any family connections in Europe.
