I recently learned that my ggggrandmother's maiden name was Anna STACKMANN, she married Conrad DETERDING circa 1838-1840 probably in or around Sachsenhagen, Schaumberg-Lippe, Germany area. Anna was born in 1821 and Conrad in 1810. They immigrated with their four children to the U.S. in 1847. Lived in NYC. I think Anna STACKMANN remarried after Conrad died in the 1860s.
Who has the German/Lutheran Church records for this area and time frame? Were there any German census' records recorded and still in existance today? Any one know if FHL has these? Any independent researchers for the area?
