I read your post re: Deterding's in the "Sachsenhagen" area. My grandfather wrote that his grandfather and father immigrated to the US from Sachsenhausen (my grandfather writing and spelling was not the best) in 1891. His grandfather's and father's name was Henry, as was his. He said that his grandfather's wife's name was Charlotte Geurke and they had three sons, Henry C., William, Louie, and a daughter Augusta. William moved to Oklahoma City to work on the railroad. Augusta stayed in Chicago and she married and Anotn Frost (sp.?) and adopted a daughter. Louie and Henry Sr. went to Elma (Alma?) Iowa. My grandfather had lost track of them. His father, Henry C.(born 9/29/1866-died 10/28/1934), stayed in Tripola, Ia, where most of my relatives remain. That's all the information he had.
