I think we might be related. My paternal grandmother was also Elizabeth Deterding who married Rev. Fred A. Mehl. Isn't that surprising? We do not appear to be related to Matt Quinn. I have already corresponded with him. I am still working on that branch of the family. About a month ago I had lunch with 2 ladies who are each descended from one of George Deterding's sisters. We compared notes and I did learn a few more things. They have given me the information on those 2 branches of the family so now we have the descendants of all 5 of the Deterding children. It does appear they might have come from the Hamburg area.
Hear you are not going to make it to the reunion. Too bad! Why don't you reconsider?
