Sorry for the delay in posting another message. I understand there is a large(ish) number of Deterdings in Germany and there do seem to be quite a number in USA and Canada. I am reasonably sure my family are the only Deterdings in Britain. I find the discussions about family origins fascinating and whether we find out or not whether we are all related to each other or not, it has been interesting trying to find out! Sir Henri certainly travelled the world a lot in his lifetime and whether this had an effect on where various members of the family ended up, I don't know, but maybe!
