You might want to check around Prairie du Rocher, Randolph Co., IL for records. There was also another Deterding family around Edwardsville and Jacksonville, IL that was not related (as far as I know) to the Randolph Co., IL Deterdings. Some of the Randolph Co., IL Deterdings later went on to Nebraska. I think there are some other Deterding families there, as Deterding is more common a name in Nebraska than about anywhere in the country. Those are a few leads for what they are worth.
