Hello,
I can provide a much more detailed history if someone wants it, but I am of the Madison County, IL Deterdings. The family has been in the southern, IL region for quite some time. I know that there are some Kansis City, MO Deterdings and I think we come together with Wilhelm's somewhere along the line. There is an IL state cop from Red Bud, IL and a pastor (of the KC Deterdings) in Godfrey, IL. There is a "Deterding Hills" subdivision around here as well.
I can provide some other information for one or two generations back if anyone would like. Let me know!
