I have just started researching my father's family. Although my name is spelled with the space "De Stefano" I have found variations in the spelling on the birth certificates of my father's siblings. I just received a copy of my grandparent's marriage record and found the name to be spelt "Di Stefano". My grandfather is listed as coming from Rocchetta San Antonio. From the little reserach I've done, I believe that the spelling depends on the region in Italy that the family is from. I have noticed a number of De Stefanos listed in the phone book in my area, however I believe I am not related to many of them.
