I am Gillian, I have been tracing my family tree. My father's name is John Emmanual Dessaur, his father was Jacob, his grandfather was DAvid Dessaur, and his gr grandfather was Jacob Samuel Dessaur (Dessauer), who came over to London, England around 1853.
Jacob left behind his first wife, Elizabeth Hartog Sierles who lived in Muiderstraat Amsterdam. She divorced him in 1854.
He married here in England, to Jane (nee Smarje). This is the line I come from.
Jacob's father was Samuel Jacob, and I believe remained in Holland. Do any of these tie in with your family tree? Gillian
