Dessaur to Desaire

I have been researching the surname Deserre back to France. I have a direct line back to the early 1600s to Francois De Serre. The name goes back to the early Serre spelling and that name dates back to about 1150 in France. I have found my forefathers used many different "dit" names. Most of my early ancestors after then got to the Quebec area of Canada were of the Catholic faith. The priest was responsible for documenting births, marriages, and deaths so we have a very good "road map" to trace our ancestors except very few of my ancestors were able to read or write so the spelling of our surname changed many times throughout history.

Is there a connection between Dessaur and Deserre? I have not found one but that does not mean that is the final answer.
