I have a Jean-Baptiste Desrosiers who according to the 1851, 1861, and 1871 Canadian Census for Philipsburg, Quebec was
born in 1798 to 1799. I also have his death
certificate from Swanton, Vermont which also
confirms his birth around that time. He
died on March 19, 1879 at the age of 80 but
the only information on it was born in Canada and died of old age.
Jean-Baptiste Desrosiers who was 22 yrs
older than his wife married on September 28, 1845 to Marie Bourdon. The marriage took place in Saint Georges-de-Henryville Catholic
Church in Henryville, Quebec. This marriage
was a formality for an earlier marriage that
would have taken place probably around 1838.
The parents of Jean-Baptiste Desrosiers are still a mystery but the parents of Marie
are Marc Bourdon and Therese Delorme. Marie
was also known as Domithilde, Emelie, Amelia,
and Emelda. All these names were recorded
on the baptism records of their children. All their children came to Swanton or Highgate Vermont where they married and rasied their children. The children of
Jean-Baptiste Desrosiers and Marie Bourdon are listed as followed.

first name could be Fabien.
2. Josephine Desrosiers born June 5, 1841 and
Married Nicholas Lahue on Jan. 11, 1864.
3. Solomie Desrosiers born about 1842
4. Marie Ismael Desrosiers born June 1844
***all these births were recorded at the
church in Henryville, Quebec.
5. Alfred Desrosiers born March 16, 1846
6. Edouard Desrosiers born Jan. 16, 1848
died Aug. 14, 1848
7. Thomas Desrosiers born Sept. 20, 1849 and
married Amelia Raymond on Jan. 22, 1871
8. Israel Desrosiers born Feb. 27, 1851 and
married Denissa Moller Dec. 1876
9. Gaspar Desrosiers born Nov. 28, 1852 and
married Maria Chartier date unknown
10. Philomene Desrosiers born Dec. 19, 1854
and married Louis Laplante in 1882
11. Alphonse Desrosiers born June 21, 1856
12. Marie Felaneize Desrosiers born March
21, 1858 and married Alfred Lahue on
June 25, 1878.
13. Joseph Desrosier born Feb. 10, 1860
died Jul. 1862
14. Cleophas Desrosiers born March 4, 1862

Notre Dame-de-L'Assomption Catholic Church
Would like to hear from anyone that can connect with this family. Would like to know
who the parents of Jean-Baptiste Desrosiers are and where he was born. Would also like to know who his siblings were and where they went to.
