My Louis was born in 1824 or 1829 or 1830 and tracked through the Cenus Michigan 1860-1910. The birthplace changed each cenus...Canada, Michigan, Minnesota, Louisana, Colorado..if I remember correctly. I think he was hiding that he was not an US citizen. Is it possible that the Levin went ahead and move his family at a later date?

My Louis' son Louis was naturalized. If Louis was a US citizen ...why would his son need to be natualized?

William, Alexander, and Maurgurita are some of the older Louis' grandchildren's names. They were really big on family names...Like brothers would name each others sons after their brother.

Hum....Do you have any other history on Louis. Because I can not find my Louis before the 1860 Michigan cenus. Did they reside in New York? My next step was to start looking in Canada.....My Louis was married around/before 1850.
