Hi Tina,,, I am not sure if I wrote to you before,,it has been awhile since I did some research.. it is funny that I have been trying to find if there are relatives in Vermont from a ways back... My French line came from Montreal... fled across Lake Champlain and settled in Vermont ( heard one relative was throw in the Ohio River and left for dead for money he had on him ) and then the family headed to Detroit to establish the First French speaking Baptist Church there... of course the family was Catholic originally but my 3rd ( off the top of my head) Grandfather changed his beliefs and religion and the family was ostracized etc. so they fled... I know that the man who died in the river was a brother of my 3rd Great Granfather... and he had children and a wife but no names were ever mentioned... Of course in the old family journal no names were given of all the people who fled Canada and came to the States... My Mothers family name changed from Boucher dit DesRoches to just DesRoches which was used in the States and on down the family line after that... I have traced back my line into the same line from years ago as yours etc.... Interesting.. Diana dlraaf@yahoo.ca Notify Administrator about this message?
