Desrosiers is not Desroches

Hi Renee,

Since you posted your question last summer, I did a lot of research to find your g-grandfather's genealogy. Unfortunately, I came to two conclusions:

1- Your ancestors were probably not married in Canada. There are a few woment named Ursule DESROSIERS, but none who married a man by the name of Antoine HÉBERT. I even checked all spelling variations I could.

2- The DESROSIERS family has no relationship whatsoever with the DESROCHES family. The common ancestor of all DESROSIERS in Canada is Jean DESROSIERS dit Dutremble (1657-1704), son of Antoine DESROSIERS (1619-1691), a judge I believe, and Anne LENEUF, who came from a very prominent family.

You should post your question on the other Genforum section http://genforum.genealogy.com/desrosiers
