I hope you noticed the different surnames here: DESROCHES vs DESROCHERS. DESROCHES is mainly from the Maritime Provinces; DESROCHERS is a nickname for the BRIEN family which was known at its beginning as Brien dit Desrochers. You want the DESROCHERS family info. This may be the reason for your stonewalls, if you're looking under the wrong surname.
