Hi Keith,
My name is Shelly DesRoches, I know that I am Indian. My grandfather was Emile Antione DesRoches from Prince Albert, Sask. Historically, the Metis Women of this region married the French Fur Traders of the late 1800's. For me, the nation where my grandfather was born is Cree Nation. My physical self represents a Native women.Dark skin and eyes. Research is done through Louis Reille (spelling). The Metis people were given the choice to live the native way or the white way and live as Catholics. Alot of Metis people renouced their Indian blood. This is making it very difficult to find my ancestry, for I walk the Native Road.
Good Luck with your journey,
Shelly
