Diana,

My Joseph DesRoches was born in 1816 (don't know where I got this date) and he was married in 1845, his first child, a daughter Margaret DesRoches was born in 1846 and he left Montreal for Oswego and became Joseph Stone by 1847 when his second child, Joseph Stone was born (my ggrandfather). The Romauld name is not one that seems to be in the family that followed. I haven't been able to get too much history on his family.
