It says: Thomas DeSoto 31 married 2 years born NY Carpenter, Wife Elizabeth 1 child born and living immagrated 1886, Roslyn daughter 3 months born New York, Mother Katharine 63 widowed 7 children born 3 living immigrated 1889, Amelia daughter 27 single born NY. Next door: Bernard Malone 27 married 5 years born NY Salesman Hat Store & Roslyn wife 27 born New York. Roslyn Malone is Thomas' sister, Rose. 1900 Census - Kings, New York Joseph DeSoto 64 (May 1836) born Gilbraltor Spain immagrated 1851 Carpenter, wife Catherine 50 (Aug 1849) 4 children 3 living born Ireland Immigrated 1851, Thomas son 22 (Jan 1877) born NY Carpenter, Amelia daughter 18 (Feb 1888) born NY, & Rose 15 (May 1885) born NY Book-folder. This means that Joseph DeSoto b. abt 1832 Gilbraltor, Spain died between 1900-1920 in New York married Catherine Brennan b. Aug 1849 in Ireland died after 1920. Both of them came over about 1851 and were naturalized. They had: Thomas B. DeSoto b 17 Jan 1879 St Clares Hospital Manhattan, NYC, NY d. 26 Jun 1951 NYC, NY married Elizabeth Beatrice Southgate on Nov 1908 in New York, "Rose" Roslyn DeSoto b. May 1885 NY d. unknown married Bernard Malone abt 1905, & Amelia DeSoto b. Feb 1884 d. unknown single in 1920. This is all I have now on this line backward.
