I have Fermin DeSoto in My DeSoto Family records and don't know where to place him or them. There is a Louis Joseph Fermin b. in 1761/1763 and not mentioned any more(did he die young? In the sale of a Louis Fermim's land in 1810 no mention of children, only his sibling are listed as heirs. I have thought Fermin to be a grandson of Manuel DeSoto and Marie des Nieges de St. Denis but can not find enough data to support that thought. A marriage record lists Firman Soto to Sophie Gonin in 1831 and later listed with Flavia bt.1832 and Octavia bt.1834 with Godparent Lawrence DeSoto. There is also Fermin DeSoto and Marie Frances Lestage with Ovide Lovent(Laurent) bt. 1843 (Possibly a 2nd marriage)? or another Fermin??? Maybe you can help me place him or them? with parents.
