Actually your father said he came from Gibraltor and they were Catholic. This would be Joseph DeSoto & Catherine Brennan DeSoto. They also had a daughter named Rose in NY.

I also have some related DeSoto's:
Harold & Edith DeSoto of Tarrytown, NY. These might have been uncles, brothers, or cousins to either Thomas or Joseph.

Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated.
