Hi Jerry, I also emailed this to you, but in case your email address has changed since 2005 (as mine has), I'm following up here as well. You had posted a note regarding the DeSoto's back in 2005, in response to my Wife. Unfortunatly, she never saw this: http://genforum.genealogy.com/desoto/messages/113.html What was your source for this information? We'd like to compare it to our records to make some sort of sense out of this. I have Josephine Desoto in my Database, but my Catherine Brennon DeSoto (Joseph's wife) was born in 1849 (Ireland) making it improbable that Josphine is her daughter (though the records may be incorrect). Census records showed both Isabelle (explained further below) and Josphene to be Joseph's and Catherine's children, but the dates don't work. I also have the following Children for Joseph and Catherine: John J DeSoto - 1/25/1867 Brooklyn NY Mary DeSoto - ~1877, NY Thomas B Desoto - 1/17/1879 NYC NY (My Great-Grandfather) Amelia DeSoto 2/1884 - NY Rose DeSoto - 5/1885 - NY Joseph had a brother, John Desoto born ~1830 , also in Gilbrator. The story as passed down to my Father is that they travelled together to Ireland from Gilbrator, and there met/married? two Irish girls, Catherine Brennon (My great-great GrandMother), and Mary. They then travelled together to America, arriving and settling in New York. Mary was born around 1842, making her and John possible parents for Josphine and an Isabelle DeSoto also listed in Census records as a daugther (born around 1856, NY) I don't have a Cath/Kate Desoto in any of my records, besides Catherine Brennon. Thanks for any help you can provide. By the way, do you have a relation into this family? All the Best Jason Folk jason@2folks.com Notify Administrator about this message?
