I am looking for information on my Grandfather (maternal), George C. (Chassmey, not sure of spelling was his mothers maiden name) Desmond. George was born on May 4, 1915, I'm not sure where (possibly England or Ireland), his parents died when he was young and he was taken in by an Aunt and Uncle. For whatever reason he came the the United States when he was still young (possibly under 20 years) and worked for Sears and in other department stores. He was in the military during world war II and marred Frances M. Gordy, who was his second wife. He had a son named Gary Desmond with his first wife (name unknown).
My grandfather was very secretive about his family history and I am trying to find out his parents names and places of origin so that I can continue the search, if anyone has any information that might pertain to this family, PLEASE post me a message.
