My ancestor was Michael Joseph Desmond, born 1839, in the city of Cork, Ireland. He married Catherine O'Callaghan (born 31 Oct 1840 in city of Cork) on 17 Apr 1858 in the city of Cork at the Church of SS. Mary and Anne Shandon. Several of their children have the same names as members of you family, so I'm wondering if your Cornelius and my Michael Joseph may be related. For example, Michael and Catherine had a son named Cornelius J. Desmond born Feb 1874 in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska. They also had a son William R. Desmond born Mar 1868 in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska. They had a son John Joseph Desmond born 9 Mar 1859 in City of Cork, and a son Jeremiah Desmond born Apr 1870 in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska. They had 12 children in all, but I've only listed the ones with similar names. I would appreciate any information that you may have on any connection between your Cornelius and my Michael Joseph Desmond. Thanks.
