Thank you, Victoria, for your interest and response. Yancy Whitehead's husband was born around 1860, plus or minus 3. We are currently on the track of Wilson B, Deshazo, born about 1858, son of your Martha's brother Hugh Lawrence Deshazo. We are still seeking documentary confirmation Wilson B. is the right one.
Somewhere we read that some Jernigan descendants claim Martha is the oldest of her siblings, not the youngest. I'll bet you know about that controversy. If you have a definitive list of Martha's siblings and all their dates, it would be good to have that information either by follow up posting or by e-mail.
